  • New Direct Replication Section with a Focus on Pharmacology

    2025-12-05

Advances in Translational Research is launching a dedicated Direct Replication Studies section to help confront the persistent reproducibility crisis in biomedical science — with a particular emphasis on preclinical pharmacology. This new initiative integrates the strengths of Registered Reports with rigorously designed, blinded, and randomized replication experiments. Once a replication plan is peer-reviewed and approved, the study receives in-principle acceptance, and the final results will be published regardless of outcome to promote transparency and data integrity.

The section prioritizes replication of influential findings in pharmacological research, especially studies involving robust functional endpoints such as cell viability, proliferation, survival, metabolic markers, and therapeutic effects in preclinical models. By offering a clear, structured pathway for independent replication — from proposal through data deposition and publication — the journal aims to reinforce the foundations of pharmacological science and enhance confidence in published results. We invite researchers and funding bodies committed to rigor and reproducibility to join and support this effort.
