Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. Book Review Guidelines are available from HERE.
  • I understand that the journal of Journal of Psychedelic Studies is using double-blind peer-review system, therefore as the author/co-author of the present manuscripts I have adequately prepared a TITLE PAGE containing all personal information, as a separate document file, while the manuscript text file does NOT contain our names or affiliations and in the meantime I have removed all personal information data from all Microsoft Word document (doc, docx), OpenDocument (odt, ott) or PDF files too.
  • I hereby understand and acknowledge that all submitted files will automatically be subject to plagiarism check (iThenticate) and I fully understand that my manuscript might be rejected without any further consideration if it contains uncited word-by-word quotations from copyrighted publications.
  • Please note that the corresponding author of every manuscript submitted after 31 December 2023 is to pay the Article Processing Charge (APC) of 990 EUR to cover the publishing costs of the paper. When submitting a paper in the Journal of Psychedelic Studies, you acknowledge that Open Access fee is payable for Authors. Manuscripts with outstanding payment will not be published until the balance is cleared.

Original Research Paper

Original Research Papers reporting high quality original results of research typically should not exceed
4000 words for the main body of the paper (i.e., excluding abstract, references, acknowledgments,
tables and figures).

Review Article

Review Articles of specialized topics within the scope of the journal. Typically, these are systematic
reviews or critical analyses of a field of research. A Review Article typically should not exceed 6000
words (i.e., excluding abstract, references, acknowledgments, tables and figures).

Case Report

Case Reports Only exceptional cases will be considered for publication as single case report. Case
Reports should describe novel, well-documented findings that will be of help and interest to the
practitioner.

Brief Report

Brief Reports reporting on research that has progressed to the stage where a preliminary publication is
appropriate. Manuscript length for Brief Reports is 2000 words. There should be not more than 2
illustrations (figure or tables) and 30 references.

Commentary

Commentaries express points of view on scientific matters or published papers. Typically,
Commentaries are solicited by the editors, but authors who wish to submit Commentaries are advised
to contact the Editor-in-Chief to discuss the suitability of the proposed paper. A Commentary typically
should not exceed 2000 words.

Book Review

Book Reviews. Books for review should be directly sent to the Book Reviews Editor and to the Editorial
Office of the Journal of Psychedelic Studies. Books are received with the understanding that reviewers
selected by the Book Reviews Editor write their independent critical appraisals of the book’s content
and presentation.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
