Short description:

Acta Botanica Hungarica publishes papers in a wide range of plant sciences from infraindividual to supraindividual levels of organisation, e.g., plant anatomy and histology, cryptogam and phanerogam taxonomy, molecular phylogeny, plant geography, plant demography, population biology, plant sociology, vegetation science, tropical botany, ethnobotany, palaeobotany and palynology. However, agricultural/horticultural aspects are strongly discouraged. Interdisciplinary studies are welcome. Acta Botanica Hungarica has a broad geographic coverage, seeking manuscripts that range from case studies to regional or global perspectives.

Manuscripts submitted to Acta Botanica Hungarica should demonstrate high scientific standards in handling data and presenting results. The priority for Acta Botanica Hungarica is the publication of original research articles. Short communications, opinions, correspondence, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and theoretical papers are also considered. There is no limit to the length of manuscripts, but unnecessarily lengthy wording should be avoided. Book reviews appear regularly.
